This fee is paid at time of registration, and is given back as credit on your account after you have completed your requirements. This is processed after our year end ice show. The amount credited is determined by how much fundraising and/or volunteering you have completed. You can only be credited to the maximum bond amount paid.

Why do I have to provide a Fundraiser/volunteer bond? 

Just like most other non-profit sports organizations, fundraising and volunteering helps keep the club costs down, which in turns keep our registration fees down.  We are required to have National Certified Program Coaches during all of our sessions and these coaches are paid, not volunteers.  On top of paid coaches, we have ice rental fees, off-ice activities, and supplies which increase every year.  Registration fees alone do not cover Strathroy Skating Club's ice rental and coaching fees.

How to get your Volunteer Credits? 

The Strathroy Skating Club offers many opportunities for families to get their volunteer credits

Board of Directors - Be part of our Board of Directors! The Strathroy Skating Club is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of a President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Directors at large. Elections are held at the Annual General Meeting each year.

Ice Show - The Strathroy Skating Club will host an annual ice show this year. Volunteersw ill be needed to build props, set up backdrop, lights, and board cover up, assist with with admissions, sales table, security, announcing, music, set up and tear down, and costume distribution. 

Fundraiser Distribution - The Strathroy Skating Club requires volunteers to help organize and distribute our fundraisers such as Elmira Poultry, Carmichael Meats, Cinnabon, etc.  

CANSKATE - The Strathroy Skating club requires volunteers to help with office duties during our CanSkate sessions. Handing out name tags, offering assistance with rental skates, answering questions from members, tidying up our CanSkate cart, refilling our sticker box for sessions, etc. 

Off-Ice - Have experience in dance, fitness instruction or nutritional health? We are looking for volunteers to help deliver 30 minute off-ice sessions to our STAR skaters in these areas of focus. This would be a few times a month! If you are interested, please reach out by email. 

Photography - Do you have experience in sport photography? We are looking for a volunteer who can take on ice still shots of all our STAR Skaters for social media recognition throughout the season. We are also looking for action shots of our skaters during the season and at our annual ice show. Please email us if you are interested!
