
SKATER ON ICE CODE OF CONDUCT
On-Ice Rules
- CSA approved helmets are mandatory for all skaters registered for PreCanSkate, CanSkate (up to Stage 6)
- To ensure safety and prevent accidents, all skaters must be aware of what is going on around them when on the ice.
- Coaches are not to be interrupted while giving a lesson, unless there is a safety issue.
- Pushing, tripping, horseplay or interfering with another skater is not permitted on the ice or elsewhere in the arena.
- Kicking the ice, kicking the boards, shouting, foul language or arguing with other skaters or coaches will not be tolerated.
- A skater performing a pattern dance with or without a partner or skating a freeskate program to music has the right of way.
- A skater in a private lesson has the right of way, unless there is a skater performing a pattern dance with or without a partner or freeskate program to music.
- All skaters are responsible for keeping the boards clean. Please remove all belongings from the boards before exiting the ice surface.
- StarSkaters are responsible for filling any holes made during their session before exiting the ice.
- Skaters shall treat all CDs and music equipment with respect and care.
- Coaches must ensure their skaters know and follow these on‐ice rules.
- Any skater in breach of these rules will be asked to leave the ice by a coach or board member. Repeated violations of the Club Code of Conduct may result in additional sanctions by the Board of Directors.
