SKATER ON ICE CODE OF CONDUCT

On-Ice Rules

  1. CSA approved helmets are mandatory for all skaters registered for PreCanSkate, CanSkate (up to Stage 6)
  2. To ensure safety and prevent accidents, all skaters must be aware of what is going on around them when on the ice.
  3. Coaches are not to be interrupted while giving a lesson, unless there is a safety issue.
  4. Pushing, tripping, horseplay or interfering with another skater is not permitted on the ice or elsewhere in the arena.
  5. Kicking the ice, kicking the boards, shouting, foul language or arguing with other skaters or coaches will not be tolerated.
  6. A skater performing a pattern dance with or without a partner or skating a freeskate program to music has the right of way.
  7. A skater in a private lesson has the right of way, unless there is a skater performing a pattern dance with or without a partner or freeskate program to music.
  8. All skaters are responsible for keeping the boards clean. Please remove all belongings from the boards before exiting the ice surface.
  9. StarSkaters are responsible for filling any holes made during their session before exiting the ice.
  10. Skaters shall treat all CDs and music equipment with respect and care.
  11. Coaches must ensure their skaters know and follow these on‐ice rules.
  12. Any skater in breach of these rules will be asked to leave the ice by a coach or board member. Repeated violations of the Club Code of Conduct may result in additional sanctions by the Board of Directors.

CanSkate equipment and materials (rental skates, helmets, badges, ribbons, fun day materials, etc.)

StarSkate equipment and materials (rental skates, awards, team events)

Provincial level athlete grant's (Grants for each category a skater qualifies for in the Provincial Championships)
